"I tasted this 1985 Penfolds Grange Shiraz as part of the Penfolds Rewards of Patience tastings. It’s a blend of 99 percent shiraz and 1 percent cabernet sauvignon. The grapes were grown on the Kalimna vineyard in the Barossa and other Barossa Valley vineyards; in the Clare Valley, and on the Modbury Vineyard in Adelaide. It was a cool year, though not as cool as 1984. Power, balance, intent. Wonderful Grange. Woodsmoke, toffee, coffee, plums, soy – you want more? Ok, you got more – mint, black leather, pure and clean and velvety. Complete wine. It has matured beautifully. 94 Points" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
