"Mint, eucalyptus and menthol certainly play a large part in the flavour profile, and if you don’t mind that or accept it, then onwards and upwards. There’s crushed berries, coffee bean, perfumed dried herb and black pepper – aromatic. Only just medium bodied but notably young and sinewy with firm acid and tannin – grip and vigour – no shortage of that. It’s savoury and red and black fruited with a long dry finish. Love the shape and old vine authority here which stamp it out as a remarkable and individual wine. Respect that authority, yet don’t love it. It should age magnificently and become something else again – in about twenty years.Drink 2019-2038+"
