"Bright crimson, slightly deeper/more purple than the other '09s. Wendouree occupies a truly unique site that sets its wines apart from all others in the Clare Valley, but none more so than its cabernet, which has all the attributes of high quality, cool-grown cabernet. This is a very convincing wine, with great precision, length and balance. 96 points/Drink by 2040" - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"Blackcurrant, mint, cedar wood, aromatic with serious gum and bay leaf action. There’s a sort of toasted Brazil nut character to smell too. It’s very firm and sinewy, with almost stringy tannin, but there’s tight control and impact right the way through to the grainy tannic finish. There’s some stalkiness and bitterness that’s not off-putting, but most certainly present -think dried herb and black tea. It’s bloody long though, with sweet red fruit to temper the assault. Confronting as a young wine. Let it be. 93+ Points/Drink 2020-2049" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
