About the producer
Cyprien Arlaud, who has run Domaine Arlaud since 2013, produces a second, smaller range under his own name. Where Domaine Arlaud is built entirely on estate-owned parcels, the Cyprien Arlaud range comes from vineyards secured through long-term relationships with growers across the Côte de Nuits, land Cyprien doesn't own but farms and harvests himself, to the same standard as his own vines. The project began with the 2012 vintage, first released under the name "& Arlaud" before Cyprien began signing it under his own name from the 2019 vintage on. Most of the range has been certified organic since that vintage.
In the cellar, the wines follow the same philosophy as the domaine bottlings. Winemaking is gentle and low-intervention. The wines age 14 to 18 months in French oak, with 15 to 25 percent new wood depending on the cuvee, then bottled unfined and unfiltered, with bottling dates set by the lunar calendar.
