The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru, consisting of two barrels this year, has quite a primal nose, grapefruit mixed with nectarine and a touch of ginger. The palate is fresh and zest, touches of orange rind and peach skin, certainly with greater complexity compared to the Les Chaumées, tensile through to the finish. Excellent.
