The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroye 1er Cru has a crisp nose, quite backward, more surly compared to the Les Vergers at the moment, peach skin and waxy aromas emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a little rounded in texture with lime cordial and Clementine, perhaps just needing a little more mineralité on the finish. Yet this is still well-crafted.
