The promising 2022 Cornas La Geynale was made with 100% whole-clusters
during fermentation. A complex nose explodes with pungent raspberry jam,
blackberry compote, roasted herbs, iodine, tobacco leaves, spice-box, candle
wax and a splash of menthol. There’s even a little gamey edge. This
concentrated elixir hits the palate with mind-boggling energy and frames a
massive tannic structure. I can’t wait to taste the final result.
