The 2021 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru was acutely affected by frost and all the season's other ailments, cropped at a measly (Didier Picq's bashes in the figures in his calculator) 15hl/ha. My sample had only be fined. As such, it will only be bottled in magnums. It has a beautifully-defined, mineral, wet limestone scented bouquet that just reeks of Chablis. It could not come from anywhere else. The palate is well balanced with tropical hints of pineapple and passion fruit, a little orange pith on the entry. Very intense, though I feel the Vosgros has a more mineral-driven finish
