"This review is from a vertical tasting of Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz for the Penfolds Rewards of Patience. It’s an independent review. Assertive mocha-like oak. Palate is swamped with oak too. Currants, vanilla, toast and coffee – nice structure, nice flow through the mouth, but far too much fresh oak. Gorgeous, red-fruited tannins though. It might take ten years, but it could well turn into quite something. Score is an each-way bet. If the fruit wins out, it’s a pearler. If the oak continues to dominate… 92 Points/Drink 2012-2020" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
