"The first-ever Massolino Barbaresco wines have landed in Australia. Franco Massolino had been looking to get his foot into Barbaresco for at least a decade and, in 2018 he finally secured a long-term lease of four hectares in the commune of Neive. The vineyards, owned by the freshly retired Bernardino Gastaldi, are found in the three crus of Serraboella, Starderi and the famous hillside vineyard of Albesani."
Importer Notes
"The 2019 Barbaresco Albesani captures all the breadth and resonance that is such a signature of this famous hillside site in Neive. Red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal, lavender, menthol and licorice build with a bit of time in the glass. Bright acids and lively tannins add energy to this super-classic, inviting Barbaresco from Massolino. The 2019 is a dream, not to mention a superb debut."
