The 2018er Ürziger Würzgarten Unterst Pichter Réserve Alte Reben, as it is referred to on the front label (the reference to GG is left for the back label and GGR is engraved on the bottle), was made from parcels of very old un-grafted vines in the prime Pichter sector and was fermented in oak with ambient yeasts and aged on
its gross lees for 24 months before being bottled. This wine offers a beautiful nose made of cassis, white flowers, earthy spices, smoke, and a hint of creaminess. It is beautifully elegant and intense on the palate, where the fruity side is beautifully wrapped into herbs and spices. The finish is gorgeously playful, subtly silky,
and hugely precise. What a great dry Riesling in the making! Now-2038. 95 points. Mosel Fine Wine
