A discreet application of wood easily allows the ultra-pure and fresh aromas of essence of red currant, spice and soft earth aromas to have center stage. The detailed and almost painfully intense middle weight plus flavors display evident minerality with focused power, all wrapped in a balanced, serious and obviously built-to-age finale. This is clearly a powerful and serious effort yet there is a certain finesse present as well. Even so, I would suggest that you not buy this absent the express intent to cellar it for at least 7 to 8 years first. Outstanding.
