Bright, full red. Aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, red plum, earth and crushed stone convey a subtle coolness. Then supple, suave and dry, showing modest penetration but attractive inner-mouth floral lift. This wine was tasting well months before it was bottled in December, noted Mugneret. Eighty percent of the fruit from the first buds was destroyed by the frost, but production was ultimately down by only 20% as Mugneret was able to use the second-generation grapes.
