"The 2019 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is clearly a few steps ahead of the Charmes-Chambertin in terms of intensity and complexity, darker fruit laced with crushed rock, oyster shell, hints of potpourri and clove. This is a very involving bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that disguise the structure behind this Mazis. Nicely proportioned with just the right amount of salinity, it feels almost understated on the finish (very unlike a Mazis!) This is a superb Grand Cru that crowns one of the best line-ups that I have encountered from Confuron-Contetidot."
