Crawford River – considered by many to be Australia’s best riesling producer – make 800 dozen of this its signature riesling.
It’s rich and intense. It gets straight down to business, commanding respect from the outset. Orange rind, lime leaf, grapefruit and lemon juice flavours pour through the palate; it’s distinctive, it’s textural, it’s lengthy. The normal advice with Crawford River Riesling, especially given its impressive cellaring track record, is to tuck it away and forget about it for a decade – but this release seems particularly suited to early/young consumption.
