Brezza's 2013 Barolo Riserva Sarmassa Vigna Bricco, a new release, is going to require a good bit of patience. This big, strapping Barolo shows the darker, more virile side of Nebbiolo off to great effect. Dark cherry, sage, tobacco, menthol, plum, and spice all pulse with notable energy. Even though the 2013 is quite raw and not fully formed, it has plenty of depth and enough balance to develop into a fine Barolo.
