"The 2016 Clos-Saint-Denis Grand Cru from Leroux stands as one of the finest
bottled wines that I have tasted from this producer. It offers copious red and
blue fruit on the nose - redcurrant jam, blueberry and fleeting cassis aromas,
very well defined with a floral component more conspicuous than its peers. The
palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin. This delivers the weight and
intensity you expect from a Grand Cru, with countervailing finesse and
refinement that can only derive from the most propitious terroirs. Extremely
long on the sorbet-like finish with hints of cracked black pepper, such is the
crystalline nature of this wine that you could broach a bottle now and not be
overcome with guilt. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2016 tasting."
