Nicolas Bernard and Veronique Bonin produce some of Meursault's finest wines. They farm 7 hectares of vines in Meursault and Puligny in a style they call 'Lutte Integree'.
This is a mix of several different methods including biodynamic, organic, and 'Lutte Raisonee'. According to the vintage conditions they choose which method to use, where, always intervening as little as possible.
Typically they pick early, hand-harvesting, while the natural acidity is high because they believe this is what the terroir of Meursault demands to produce the wines it is so famous for.
The wines are all raised in 25% new oak for 18 months, with barrels re-used many times and only for the same wine. For example, a barrel used for Le Limozin will only ever be used for Le Limozin. Following this the wines are racked into tank for 3 months before being bottled.
The wines of Domaine Bernard-Bonin are vibrant, fresh, rich, and mineral.
