Introducing Sentio Wines – Crafted with Curiosity, Shaped by Place
Born and raised in Beechworth, Victoria, Chris Catlow has been immersed in wine since his teens, first lending a hand to Barry Morey at Sorrenberg before pursuing a double degree in Viticultural Science and Wine Science at La Trobe University. His early love of Chardonnay carried him through seven vintages on the Mornington Peninsula (with Kooyong, Portsea, and Paringa Estates) and five formative years in Burgundy, honing a style that marries Australian vibrancy with old-world finesse.
With Sentio, Chris continues to evolve his philosophy: wines should tell the story of their vineyard and region—pure, expressive, and deeply rooted in place.
The 2024 vintage is a testament to that vision. Despite the challenge of frost reducing yields, the resulting wines are superb:
Whites benefited from cool nights at harvest, delivering outstanding structure, freshness, and natural acidity.
Reds thrived under moderate ripening conditions, producing elegant wines with balance and fine tannins.
Volumes may be limited, but quality is exceptional. Sentiō 2024 captures the spirit of Beechworth and beyond—wines of authenticity, precision, and character.
