Join Kyoko Sato, co-founder and winemaker of La Ferme de Sato, the label she runs with her husband Yoshiaki on Central Otago's Pisa Range, for a guided tasting through six of their estate wines. Their reputation has been climbing fast, and it's built on restraint: wild ferments, gravity-fed handling, next to no added sulfur, wines bottled unfined and unfiltered. It's minimal intervention with maximum discipline, an ethos Kyoko and Yoshiaki first learned at Felton Road and Mount Edward before bringing it to their own vines.
Expect an intimate, seated tasting — Six estate wines are poured across two brackets, three whites then three reds, with Kyoko talking through the vineyard, the vintage and the choices behind each wine as we go.
