From Canonica's 1.5 hectare holding on the hillside directly above Barolo village, 300 to 400 metres up on calcareous marl and clay, off vines over fifty years old. Of the three growers who share this cru, Canonica is the only one who bottles it alone. Same low-intervention hand: thirty to forty days on skins, foot pressed, cement and Slavonian oak, unfined and unfiltered.
