"At first pour this seems strongly stemmy (only 20% whole bunches added to the ferment), nervy and a touch reductive, which is why it needs decanting. After an hour or so, it unfurls dramatically, beautifully. A complex mix of red and black cherries, pips, too, all infused with warm spices and fresh herbs. It’s smoky and exotic with blood orange and chinotto. The palate is medium weighted, the tannins fine (if a little sinewy), and cleansing acidity knits everything together and ensures a long finish."
