"From the best parcels of the Treppchen and based on the highest must weights from the oldest vines, the 2021 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese (Gold Capsule) is pure and refined yet also intense and very elegant on the nose that reveals more tropical aromas compared to all the other Spätlesen of the vintage, but it still has the classic, coolish attitude. On the palate, the wine is lush and round, sweeter than its peers (79 grams per liter) but also delicate and refined in its overall expression and acidity. The finish is intense, saline and finely grippy and leaves the mouth with a full texture and stimulating slate piquancy."
