The 1999er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese lange GK is a different cask of Auslese than the one sold at the Auction in 2000 but which was bottled at the time and only declared recently, hence the AP number from 2018. It offers a stunning nose of peach, candied grapefruit, mango, honey, quince, almond paste, herbs and fine spices. The wine is gorgeously creamy on the palate and leaves a stunningly fruity feel in the lingering finish. The finish is still very much on the sweet side, and this is already of BA level of ripeness and presence. This truly remarkable wine proves still remarkably vital and sweet and, white delivering the goods with the ripeness and presence of a BA, it does this with incredible freshness.
