I’ve been admiring this Polish Hill Riesling over the past 24 hours. It’s grown on the 8 hectare Polish Hill vineyard, which is about five kilometres from the Springvale vineyard (as the crow flies). It’s purity personified. This of course is what you would expect of a Grosset Polish Hill riesling, but this release presents a particularly intense portrayal of lemon and lime flavours, its slatey, spicy, zesty inflections crushed down and compounded into a chalk-like finish. It has power, it has length, and it is pristine. Drink 2015-2025+
