2017 Domaine Robert Chevillon

'As I have noted before, Chevillon rarely misses and they definitely did not in 2017'
Allan Meadows, Burghound

Today we are very excited to be able to offer more spectacular Burgundies from the extraordinarily charming 2017 vintage. This time from renowned Nuits-Saint-Georges producer, Domaine Robert Chevillon.

Known for crafting magnificent Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru wines, in 2017 Chevillon has succeeded yet again producing a stunning array of cuvees that showcase the very best of what the village has to offer.

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges V.V.
Usually $135 - Special Offer $125

A discreet application of wood sets off a beautifully fresh and earthy array of red and dark currant scents. The sleek, vibrant and utterly delicious medium weight flavors exhibit a trace of minerality on the balanced, refreshing and lingering finish. This youthfully austere effort is a relatively refined Nuits villages that should drink reasonably well young.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 88-90 Points

As usual, it's an excellent representation of the appellation.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 89-91 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Bousselots'
Usually $199 - Special Offer $179

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots is very promising, bursting from the glass with a fragrant bouquet of rose petal, orange rind and small red berries. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and succulent with tangy acids, melting tannins and a long, perfumed finish.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 91-93 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Roncieres'
Usually $199 - Special Offer $179

Moderate wood sets off a spicy array that includes plum, violet and a suggestion of lavender. The beautifully vibrant middle weight flavors possess an attractive mouthfeel thanks mainly to the notably fine grained tannins shaping the impressively complex and persistent finish. The wood expressed by the nose does resurface though my sense is that it will ultimately be successfully integrated. Outstanding.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 90-93 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Chaignots'
Usually $219 - Special Offer $195

The proximity to the southern side of Vosne is in evidence as here the expressive nose of pure red and dark berry scents cut with warm earth is quite spicy. In the same fashion as the nose, there is a lovely texture to the lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that evidence both fine depth and length. I like the balance and there is enough stuffing that this could be approached early but it should also have no trouble amply repay mid-term cellaring.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 90-92 Points

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots is superb

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Perrieres'
Usually $219 - Special Offer $195

This is at once elegant and earthy with its mix of red cherry, violet, anise and wisp of forest floor. There is a bit more volume to the vibrant, pure and seductive medium-bodied flavors that aren't quite as powerful but even longer on the firmly structured and dusty finish. Despite the seductive mid-palate, the imposing tannic spine makes it clear that this is going to need at least some cellaring. Outstanding.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 91-93 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Pruliers'
Usually $219 - Special Offer $195

A distinctly earthy and somewhat somber nose possess notes of underbrush, the sauvage, dark currant and plum. The rich, concentrated and powerful medium weight flavors flesh both good minerality and excellent complexity on the solidly long and balanced if overtly rustic and very firm finish. This is a big wine in the context of the vintage and very Nuits in character. Outstanding.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 91-93 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Cailles'
Usually $295 - Special Offer $275

Chevillon's low-yielding 80-year-old vines have produced a terrific 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles that ranks among the range's high points, unfurling in the glass with a classy bouquet of ripe cherries, dried flowers, candied peel and peonies. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety with a deep, multidimensional core, beautiful purity of fruit and a long, expansive finish. Stylistically, Les Cailles is one of the most elegant wines in the range.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 93-95 Points

In sum, this beautifully well-balanced effort is Zen-like.
Sweet spot, Outstanding.
Allen Meadows, Burghound - 92-94 Points

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Vaucrains'
Usually $295 - Special Offer $275

Relatively generous wood fights a bit with the otherwise cool and pure aromas of extract of cassis, plum, humus, earth and suggestions of the sauvage. As is usually the case chez Chevillon, this is a very powerful wine with imposing size and weight with fine mid-palate density thanks to the abundant dry extract that also helps to buffer the very firm tannic spine that really emerges on the beautifully long finale.Sweet spot, Outstanding.

2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru 'Les Saint-Georges'
Usually $409 - Special Offer $379

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges is a stunning wine in the making, soaring from the glass with a beautiful bouquet of cassis, violets, wild plums, wood smoke and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, with serious reserves of beautifully refined structuring tannin and concentrated fruit, concluding with a long and sapid finish. This is a stunning wine from the Chevillon brothers which could hold its own against most of the Côte de Nuits' grands crus this year.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 94-96 Points
