The wine storage cellar can only be entered through one door that is controlled via pin code access, which also can only occur under the supervision of an MW staff member. All wine cellars are provided with provision for up to two padlocks, which can be supplied by the client or purchased from MW as an unused original padlock. Overlaying this security at various access points, there is an extensive network of security cameras both inside and outside the building. These cameras record images seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

What difference will a climate-controlled cellar make as opposed to my cellar at home?

Research has shown that there are many factors that contribute to the deterioration of wine over time. Exposure to UV light, vibrations, an overly dry humidity level, high storage temperatures and variations in temperature will all badly affect the maturation and quality of the wine.

If your wine is not held in an environment which controls all of these factors to a manageable level, then if you are an investor, the value of your wine will decrease, or if you a wine lover, the drinking pleasure associated with that wine will not be at is optimum and may be spoilt entirely.

By placing the wine in a secure, proper climate-controlled environment, the quality of the wine and hence its value will be enhanced.
